Our Executive Team

A picture of CEO Anthony Cavanagh

Anthony Cavanagh

Chief Executive Officer

A Taungurung person from Victoria. Anthony became the CEO of Ganbina in 2013. Anthony’s career spans over 30 years working in recruitment, training, operations and community services in both the private and government sectors.

Julia Weber

Executive Assistant

Julia has been Executive Assistant to Ganbina’s CEO since 2022. She has a Bachelor of Education (Primary School) and worked in Vienna, Austria in personal assistance and concierge service for high-end, international clientele from 2016-2022.

Craig Marshall

Finance Manager

Craig has been supporting the executive of Ganbina since 2001 to create Australia’s most successful school-to-work-transition program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and youth.

Our Leadership Team

Jean Miller-Fowler

General Manager

Jean is a Yorta Yorta, Wiradjuri and South Sea Islander descendent who was born and raised in the Shepparton region where she has lived her entire life and raised her three children.

Paulleen Markwort

Executive General Manager

Paulleen is a Murri woman with ties to the Gulf of Carpentaria through her matriarchs and to Wiradjuri heritage through her grandfather. As a senior executive, Paulleen brings a wealth of experience in strategy and policy development across State Government and the community sector.

Lisa Marsden

General Manager – Expansion

Lisa is a proud Gunaikurnai woman who grew up in Shepparton, Victoria and currently lives on the Gold Coast. She has dedicated her career to mentoring and supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth and has worked at Ganbina for 16 years

Lachlan Harlow

General Manager – Projects

Lachlan Harlow is a Yorta Yorta and Dja Dja Wurrung man who was supported by Ganbina from 2010-2020. Lachlan moved to Melbourne Grammar School in Year 10 thanks to Ganbina’s support. He then completed a Bachelor of Arts Double Major in Criminology and Philosophy from Monash University.

Our Corporate Support Services Team

Samantha Lenkic

Media and Communications Manager

Samantha is responsible for Ganbina’s media, promotion and communication activities. She looks after all of Ganbina’s external communications, including newsletters, social media content, promotional events, marketing collateral, PR and publicity opportunities as well as digital projects.

Our Operations Team – Shepparton

Jean Miller-Fowler

Jean is a Yorta Yorta, Wiradjuri and South Sea Islander descendent who was born and raised in the Shepparton region where she has lived her entire life and raised her three children.

Bradley Argaet

Education Project Officer

A proud Yorta Yorta man Brad has worked for Ganbina as an Education Program Project Officer since 2023. Brad went to school in Shepparton and attended Wanganui Park Secondary College after his family moved to Shepparton from New South Wales.

Valerie Atkinson

Education Project Officer

Valerie is a proud Yorta Yorta Wiradjuri woman born and raised in Shepparton and has been working at Ganbina since 2022 as an Education Program Project Officer. Valerie has a background in Education, she previously worked as a Koorie Educator at Greater Shepparton Secondary College & a Tutor with the HIPPY Program for Save The Children.

Sharni Beeton

Education Program Project Officer

Sharni is a proud Kurnai and Palawa woman who was a past participant in Ganbina’s programs. She participated in Ganbina’s Youth Leadership Program from 2017-2019, where she graduated from the program and completed her Year 12 studies at Wanganui Park Secondary College.

Klarindah Hudson

Scholarship Program Project Officer

Klarindah is a proud Gunditjmara and Yorta Yorta women, born in Melbourne. She graduated Year 12 from St Peter’s Lutheran College in Brisbane before returning to Melbourne where she went on to support First Nations people within community.

Dayna Seymour

Employment and Training Program Project Officer

A proud Yorta Yorta woman born and raised in Shepparton, Victoria, Dayna, was supported by Ganbina from 2009 – 2015 and again from 2020 – 2023. She studied for her Certificate IV in Early Childhood Education, where she went on to work in childcare for five years after graduating Year 12 from Shepparton High School in 2014.

Our Expansion Team - Queensland

Lisa Marsden

General Manager – Expansion

Lisa is a proud Gunaikurnai woman who grew up in Shepparton, Victoria and currently lives on the Gold Coast. She has dedicated her career to mentoring and supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth and has worked at Ganbina for 16 years

Tracy Bevan

National Manager - Expansion Project

A proud Kija woman from East Kimberley, Western Australia and also her father’s connections, a Bardi man from Dampier Peninsula, Tracy has worked for Ganbina since 2018. Her first role was as Ganbina’s Relationships Manager for the Ganbina Expansion project and she is now Ganbina’s General Manager.

Soraya Atkinson

Project Expansion Manager

Soraya is a proud Yorta Yorta and Bangerang women who grew up in Mooroopna in Shepparton, Victoria. Soraya attended Mooroopna Secondary College where she was a past participant for Ganbina. Soraya finished her education with ASHE (Academy of Sports, Health and Education) and completed her Certificate IV in Community Services.

Fallon Wanganeen

Chair

Fallon is a proud Narungga man from the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia. He is a results-driven professional with a proven track record in championing diversity and inclusion.

Chris Schulz

Deputy Chair

Chris spent more than thirty years as a partner at Allens, one of Australia’s leading commercial law firms, where he mainly practised Environmental Law. After retiring from full time work in 2017, he spent five years as a consultant to Allens and other organisations.

Edward Waller

Treasurer

Ed is a Deputy Portfolio Manager at Yarra Capital Management, one of Australia’s leading independent fund managers. As a member of the firm’s investment team, he is responsible for equity research and analysis of banks, diversified financials, infrastructure and utilities securities.

Timothy Warwick

Secretary

Tim is a former teacher and school principal, who currently leads the Education Equity Alliance, a collaboration of students, teachers and school/system leaders, aimed at achieving system change for equity. He is also a current board member of the Australian Alliance of Associations in Education, Ganbina and the Victorian Student Representative Council.

Kevin Moore

Member

Kevin is a VC Indigenous Pre-Doctoral Fellow at RMIT School of Management Melbourne, with his PhD topic on Victorian Treaty, Voices and Identity.

Dr Lisa Griffiths

Member

Lisa is a strong advocate for using ‘multiple sources of evidence, that demonstrate what work’ for children, young people and families facing vulnerabilities and has led the introduction of multiple evidence-based models in Australia.

Lena-Jean Charles-Loffel

Member

Lena is a Yorta Yorta/Gunai Kurnai woman and a Ganbina graduate. She joined Ganbina when she was 14-years-old and became the first Ganbina participant to obtain a Master’s degree (Master of Public Health) specialising in Indigenous Health from The University of Melbourne.

Dr Ash Francisco

Member

Ash is a proud Wiradjuri woman who grew up on Wurundjeri and Bunurong Country and is now based on Taungurung Country in North Central Victoria. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Media and Communications) from the University of Melbourne and a Master’s degree in Applied Cultural Analysis from Lunds University in Sweden.
